Letter from the Editor
Greetings, I hope your group is meaningful to you and your program is a blessing to your congregation. I also hope that the UU Small Group Ministry Network's website, www.smallgroupministry.net has supported your efforts. It contains hundreds of session plans and a wealth of wisdom from Network members and contributors. In this issue, we are sharing an article the UU SGM Network uses in training programs and Institutes, Key Success Factors for Your Small Group Ministry Program, from the June 2013 issue of Covenant Group News. We plan to devote future issues of Covenant Group News to each of the eleven success factors and would like input from you on your program's achievements and challenges. We'll devote the fall issue to the first factor, a clear ministry objective. Your ministry objective is the purpose of your program, what you're trying to accomplish, or more simply, why you have the program. Please send your submissions to us by September 30, 2018. Just email them to: cgneditor@smallgroupministry.net UUA General Assembly starts in a few days in Kansas City, MO. If you are attending, you are invited to stop by our booth # 114 with your questions or success stories or to volunteer. We are delighted to be offering a workshop this year, Small Group Ministry for These Times, on Friday night, June 22, 7 pm - 8:30 pm. In preparation for the workshop Rev. Helen Zidowecki put out a call for reflections on small group ministry over the past 20 years. Several of the founders and early practitioners responded. Their contributions are included in the booklet SMALL GROUP MINISTRY: GA 2018, available to participants of the workshop and included on the UU SGM Network Website. The workshop and booklet are described in articles below. Please share your questions, comments, concerns, and visions with us at cgneditor@smallgroupministry.net. We are eager to hear from you. Diana Dorroh, Guest Editor, Member, Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge, LA
